The situation

A machine goes down and takes the line with it. The replacement part exists, it is simply in the wrong place. From that moment the cost is not the part and not the freight, it is the line standing still, and it accrues every hour whether or not anyone is driving.

Standard freight is built for a different problem. It consolidates, it moves through terminals, it transfers between trucks, and each of those steps is a place where a shipment waits for other freight to be ready. That is efficient when the deadline is a week away. It is the wrong tool when the deadline is the next shift.

What we do

We put one truck on the part and nothing else on that truck. It is loaded where the part is, it drives to the plant, and it does not stop at a terminal on the way, because there is nothing to consolidate it with.

The vehicle is picked from the part, not from a price list. A single component in a crate moves in a cargo or sprinter van, which is faster to dispatch and gets into a plant that was not built for a tractor trailer. Pallet freight moves in a box or straight truck with dock-height loading. On a long lane we run team drivers, so the truck keeps moving through the night instead of parking for a required break.

One dispatcher stays with the run from pickup to delivery, and calls you at each milestone rather than waiting to be asked.

Why it works

Direct beats fast. A dedicated truck that never enters a terminal removes the handling steps where time actually disappears, which matters more than raw speed on the road. Freight that is never handled twice also cannot be damaged or misrouted at the handoff, and a part that arrives broken is the same as a part that did not arrive.
